The day I put down the title of wedding photographer and picked up the title that I’ve been dreaming about since I was a little girl; Bride. Bride to the Groom of my dreams, the One my heart had longed for, the One God had saved just for me.
Every detail that went into our wedding was more than just a coincidence, they were perfectly orchestrated blessings. Especially our location, the beautiful vineyard. Our decision on location was lead by a verse that was spoken to my heart, and became the heartbeat to the start of our marriage. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing……I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. {John 15:5,6}
What was the best part of our wedding? I think if I could strip it all down, at the very core of what we value is relationships. From my family in Nebraska flying in to attend their very first granddaughters wedding to our friends and family offering up their gifts and talents by pulling together to make every detail perfectly special for us. I look back and each and every memory is bathed in thankfulness for people that mean so much to me. People who have been such an encouragement in so many stages of each of our lives. I kept telling myself to remember to sit back and take it all in, to breath in all the little moments, because this day will never come again. And what I saw stitched into every moment playing out before me was relationships. I stood in awe and thankfulness for people who have such a deep love for us. For those memories, I am so blessed!
One of my most cherished memories from my wedding includes my dearest 98 year old Great Grandpa who lives in Nebraska. Every time I see him, he reminds me with a tight squeeze and tears in his eyes as he whispers in my ear, “You’re my very first great granddaughter”. It was his mission as soon as he received an invitation in the mail, to drive out to Pa to dance with me on my wedding day. It meant the world to me that he was there.
Tyler and I had so much fun reliving each moment of our wedding day, and all the love that was poured out over us. Every memory was imprinted with an overwhelming thankfulness for everyone who gave so much of themselves to make it all come together. We are so blessed by each and every one of you, friends and family, and cannot thank you enough for your love and support! We love you all! -Amber Martin
